Deep Tissue Massage

Our deeply corrective massage releases muscle tension and toxins from the body. Your therapist customizes pressure to your unique needs, ensuring it’s effective and comfortable. Many clients find lasting relief and better mobility afterward, as we work through congested areas in muscles, tendons, and ligaments caused by stress, injury, or overuse.

Naples is hard on shoulders and hips — golf, tennis and long drives all pull in the same directions. This is the session for the knot that has outlasted stretching.

The Experience

What to Expect

This one is a conversation as much as a treatment. Your therapist asks where the tightness sits and how much pressure you want, then works that area slowly with firmer, more focused strokes rather than covering everything evenly. Firm should feel productive, never like something to endure, and you are welcome to ask for less at any point. Expect to feel looser that evening and occasionally a little tender the next day, much like after a hard workout.

Who it suits

  • A specific knot, or tightness that keeps coming back
  • Shoulders and a neck that have spent the week at a desk
  • Regular exercise, and the stiffness that follows it
  • Anyone who has had a massage before and wished it went deeper

Who should skip it

  • This is your first massage and you are not sure about pressure - Swedish is a gentler introduction
  • You are pregnant, recently injured or just out of surgery
  • You bruise very easily or take blood-thinning medication - speak to your physician first

If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery or managing a medical condition, please check with your physician first and tell your therapist when you arrive.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Does deep tissue massage hurt?

It should feel like firm, satisfying pressure, not pain. Tight areas can be tender as they release, but you should always be able to breathe normally and hold a conversation. Tell your therapist the moment it tips into too much - adjusting pressure is part of the appointment, not an interruption.

Will I be sore afterwards?

Some guests feel mildly tender for a day, similar to the day after a good workout. Drinking water, moving gently and a warm shower all help. If soreness is sharp or lasts beyond a couple of days, let us know so we can adjust the pressure next time.

How often should I book deep tissue?

For a specific problem area, every two to four weeks while you are working on it, then monthly to maintain. For general tightness, once a month suits most people. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm based on what they find rather than a fixed schedule.

Can I ask for lighter pressure partway through?

Always, and it is never a problem. Pressure that is right for one area can be too much for another, and the only person who knows how it feels is you. Your therapist would far rather adjust than have you spend the hour tensing up.
