After-Beach Skin: The Best Facial for Sun-Exposed Skin in Naples

Living in Naples means daily sun whether you planned for it or not. Add salt water, the wind off the Gulf and air conditioning that runs all day, and skin ends up dehydrated, tight and dull in a way that moisturiser alone does not fix.

Here is what to book, and the one circumstance where you should wait.

First, when not to book

If you are actually burned — red, hot, sore or peeling — do not come in for a facial. Wait until your skin has settled completely, which usually means several days at minimum. A treatment on freshly burned skin is uncomfortable and pointless, and we would reschedule you at the door anyway.

If a burn is severe, blistering, or you feel unwell, that is a matter for a doctor rather than a spa. We do not treat sun damage or skin conditions, and anyone telling you a facial does is overselling.

What a week outdoors actually leaves behind

Setting aside anything that needs a doctor, the everyday version is straightforward: skin that feels tight, looks flat, drinks moisturiser and still feels dry an hour later, with a rougher texture than usual across the cheeks and forehead. That is dehydration plus a build-up of dead surface skin, and it responds well to being properly cleansed, exfoliated gently and then rehydrated in one sitting.

Which facial to book

Hydrating Luxe Facial, seventy-five minutes at $150, is the direct answer for skin that feels parched after time outdoors. It is also what we most often book for snowbirds arriving from a northern winter, which produces much the same tightness by a different route.

Signature Glow Facial, from $120 for sixty minutes, is the better pick if the problem is dullness and texture rather than dryness, or if this is your first facial and you would rather start with the standard version.

The Royal Ritual of Ocean Breeze, a hundred minutes at $295, is our signature. Book it when you want the full version rather than a reset.

Worth adding

  • Eye Revival, $20 — the area that shows a week of squinting into the sun first.
  • Lip Luxe, $15 — sun and air conditioning are both unkind to lips.
  • Body Scrub, $40 — add it to a massage. Shoulders and back take the same beating as your face and get none of the attention.

Before you come in

  • Leave at least a few days after any real sun exposure.
  • Skip retinol and exfoliating acids for about a week beforehand, and mention them to your esthetician regardless.
  • Do not book a facial the day before an event you care about. Two weeks ahead is the sensible gap; a few days at minimum.
  • Come without make-up if you can. It is not required, and we will remove it either way.

Common questions

Can a facial fix sun damage?

No, and we will not tell you otherwise. A facial cleans, exfoliates and hydrates, which makes skin look and feel considerably better. Anything beyond that is a conversation for a dermatologist.

How soon after a beach day can I book?

If you did not burn, the next day is fine. If you did, wait until all redness and tenderness have gone completely.

How often should I have one?

Many guests settle on every four to six weeks. Your esthetician will suggest a rhythm once they have seen your skin, and it varies more than people expect.

Is it different for men?

The skin concerns are much the same. Gentleman’s Facial at $150 is built around shaving and outdoor exposure, which is usually the better fit.

Ocean Breeze Spa is on Tamiami Trail East in Naples, open daily. See the full facial menu or book online.
